What You'll Do
As a Legal Advisor – Mandarin based in Pasay, you will immerse yourself in a variety of engaging tasks that span corporate governance, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and risk management. • Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing internal policies and procedures that promote legal and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve legal concerns, offering clear and practical guidance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents in both English and Mandarin, safeguarding the company’s rights and obligations.
• Identify and manage legal risks by proactively recommending strategic, business-aligned solutions.
• Liaise with government agencies to oversee licensing, registration, and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and interpret changes in local and international legislation that may affect company operations, and advise internal teams accordingly.
• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry standards.
• Represent the company in engagements with regulators, external counsel, and other authorities, maintaining a professional and ethical standard at all times.
• Support cross-border transactions by coordinating with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and ensuring all legal documentation is accurate and compliant.

Your background includes advising on intricate cross-border deals where clear communication, especially in Mandarin, is essential for success. You have honed your ability to interpret evolving regulations and provide practical recommendations that empower teams across the business. Your interpersonal strengths allow you to build trust quickly with colleagues at all levels while maintaining sensitivity towards cultural differences. A keen eye for detail ensures your contract work is thorough and reliable. You are comfortable engaging directly with government officials or external counsel when necessary. • A meticulous approach to contract drafting and document review that ensures accuracy and minimises risk exposure.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience providing legal advisory services within corporate or commercial law environments.
• Demonstrated expertise managing cross-border transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and languages.
• Experience liaising with government agencies on licensing, registration, or compliance matters relevant to multinational organisations.
• Expatriate working in the Philippines is welcomed but not required.
• HSK 5 grading in Mandarin fluency, with the ability to draft legal documents in Mandarin.
• Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable guidance for non-legal colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work Monday through Saturday.
