Product Owner

Job Description

The Product Owner is responsible for defining product functionality and gathering business requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Ancillary, Revenue Management, Pricing, Treasury, and IT. The role uses customer insights from surveys, complaints, market research, and analytics to enhance the digital customer experience. The Product Owner works with the UX/UI team to drive digital transformation, creates user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensures usability principles are incorporated. They manage the iteration plan and feature roadmap on a quarterly basis, ensuring that user stories are well-defined and ready for upcoming sprints. The Product Owner conducts UAT to verify functionality, monitors the sprint backlog, resolves issues with the ITCC and Solutions Support teams, and evaluates the success of enhancements through collaboration with other teams. They monitor competitor products and industry trends to identify opportunities to further improve the digital customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Defines functionality and gathers business requirements in coordination with other teams (e.g., Ancillary, Revenue Management, Pricing, Treasury, IT).
  • Gathers and analyzes customer needs through surveys, complaints, market research, and analytics to improve the digital experience.
  • Drives improvements in user experience by working with the UX/UI Team to push digital transformation and adoption.
  • Collaborates with Solutions and Technical Architects, Lead Developers, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers to design and deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Creates user stories (and acceptance criteria) and ensures requirements, functionality, and usability principles are incorporated.
  • Maintains the flow of story elaboration and ensures stories are groomed and ready more than 2 weeks prior to the sprint.
  • Creates the iteration plan and features roadmap on a quarterly basis for assigned products and digital channels.
  • Monitors the sprint backlog and recommends improvements through sprint retrospectives.
  • Conducts UAT for functionality and business requirements.
  • Ensures features work correctly and experiences are improved.
  • Coordinates with Analytics, Ancillary, and the Commercial Team to evaluate outcomes and plan next steps.
  • Ensures resolution of issues and bugs in production by working with the ITCC and Solutions Support teams.
  • Keeps abreast of competitor products and industry trends to drive digital innovation.
Qualifications

Educational Background: Must be a graduate with a bachelor’s degree—ideally in computer science, information technology, business management or similar fields.

Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience in digital product management, business analysis, or similar roles.

Skills:

  • Experience in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Passion for mobile, internet, and emerging technologies.
  • Usability, Product Management, and Design Thinking background is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Creative thinker with a vision.
