The US Payroll CPA is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing payroll data, preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and advising on payroll-related financial matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and process bi-weekly, monthly, or other payroll cycles for all employees.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, management, and auditors. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Administer employee benefits, deductions, and garnishments in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including overtime, deductions, and benefits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong understanding of payroll processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and tax compliance, preferably in a CPA firm or large organization.
  • Familiarity with accounting practices and payroll audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
