THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a leading Australian consultancy that partners with organizations across the aged care and professional services sectors to deliver operational, strategic, and leadership excellence. To support their growing operations, they are seeking an Accounting and Reports Assistant to provide comprehensive outsourced financial services.
This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring smooth financial operations across payroll, compliance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting. By maintaining accurate, timely financial processes and delivering clear management insights, you will directly support the Business Operations Manager and CFO in driving informed decision-making.
This position is ideal for detail-oriented finance professionals who enjoy working across multiple disciplines, thrive in a structured yet dynamic environment, and take pride in producing accurate, reliable financial information.
This position requires full on-site work at our BGC office aligned with Australian business hours (6:00 AM to 3:00 PM PHT), with hybrid setup available after 3–6 months.
Key Responsibilities- Generate, issue, and track client invoices accurately and on schedule
- Follow up on overdue invoices and provide monthly aged receivables reporting
- Process fortnightly payroll in line with employment contracts and Harvest system inputs
- Manage superannuation lodgements through clearing house portals
- Submit monthly payroll tax returns and maintain exemption certificates
- Process subcontractor payments ensuring correct GST and ABN compliance
- Review and maintain general ledger accuracy, including reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards
- Prepare and submit monthly financial packs including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Deliver KPI dashboards including payroll costs, debtors, leave balances, and revenue breakdowns
- Maintain accurate process documentation and audit-ready financial records
- At least 4 years of experience in invoicing, accounts receivable management, and payroll taxation and compliance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reconciling financial reports
- Proficiency in Xero for payroll, reporting, and reconciliations is desirable
- Experience working across multiple systems including Harvest and Forecast
