About the Role

Expansion International is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading UK private equity group with over 130 portfolio companies. We are seeking a highly skilled Statutory Reporting Accountant to manage statutory accounts preparation, statutory compliance, and group reporting processes. This is a critical role within the finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the group's reporting cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts for c.130 companies using Caseware software.
  • Manage data received from subsidiary finance leads, perform sense-checks, and ensure figures reconcile to source files.
  • Roll forward prior year accounts, apply review comments, and liaise with auditors and finance business partners.
  • Ensure trial balances (TBs) are mapped for group consolidation requirements.
  • Support group consolidation activities, including IFRS16 lease schedules, impairment and going-concern forecasts, and MI pack improvements.
  • Maintain and update holding company ledgers and consolidation data sheets.
  • Convert subsidiary monthly management information (MI) into simplified board pack formats.
  • Manage information flow between finance business partners and subsidiaries to track outstanding data and submissions.
  • Assist with process improvements, automation, and ad-hoc finance projects as delegated by the group finance team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in statutory reporting, audit, or shared services.
  • Strong working knowledge of Caseware.
  • Experience with IFRS, UK GAAP, and consolidation processes.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (preferred).
  • Proven ability to work in high-volume environments with peak reporting cycles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising with auditors and cross-functional teams.
