This is a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the engineering team to configure, support, monitor, and improve the security posture of our Big Data platform and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Research and implement security-focused tools to defend our infrastructure and applications from risks.
  • Ensure that security requirements are woven into the development of each system.
  • Design security controls for an "infrastructure as code" service model.
  • Improve the signal to noise ratio from alerts and work with DevOps to generate meaningful events.
  • Perform routine security posture assessments of the infrastructure and build a resolution plan for deficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain the security architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, respond to alerts, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Drive the design and engineering of security solutions across the business; create and automate security controls in an Agile, CI/CD environment.
  • Assist developers in static, dynamic, and open-source code analysis.
  • Drive creation and collection of information security KPIs.
  • Develop training and educational literature to educate the enterprise workforce on best practices.
  • Support the designing, testing, and implementation of complex security solutions to meet cloud security and regulatory requirements.
  • Consult with development and operational teams to securely design applications and services following industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in at least one Public Cloud (AWS or GCP).
  • Knowledge of information security, risk management, and data privacy within a cloud environment and consumer-facing applications.
  • Knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to deploying cloud-native and multi-cloud applications and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of firewalls, threat prevention and detection, and application security principles.
  • Understanding of applied cryptography and PKI; strong grasp of identity management, user authentication, and authorization principles.
  • Demonstrated technical competency in security engineering with hands-on experience or relevant qualifications.
  • Experience working in a multi-timezone environment and ability to develop solid working relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • AWS-certified security engineers will be highly preferred.
