Key Technical Leadership Role

This is a high-impact position for senior engineers seeking to lead impactful open source projects, collaborate with distributed teams, mentor colleagues, and demonstrate technical leadership within the company and its communities.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic record, a strong undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, drive, and a track record of delivering results beyond expectations. They will also have deep experience with at least one programming language, be meticulous and detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to travel occasionally for professional development.

  • Leading design and architecture of impactful open source projects
  • Developing software using Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++, or Typescript/React
  • Collaborating proactively with globally distributed teams
  • Mentoring, developing, and advising colleagues on career progression
  • Exhibiting technical leadership within Canonical and our communities
Essential Qualifications
  • Exceptional academic record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
  • Drive and a track record of delivering results above expectations
  • Strong technical leadership and team motivation, direction, and pace
  • Deep experience with at least one programming language
