Global Mobility, Senior Advisor

Global Mobility, Senior Advisor - APAC at GHD is responsible for managing and overseeing the full lifecycle international workforce transitions, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the employee experience across borders. This role works with colleagues, clients and partners to drive change and support career progression with the right technology and training.

The position will manage immigration and relocation programs and provide subject matter expertise on Global Mobility standards for long-term and short-term international assignments, permanent relocations, external international hires, project workers and frequent business travelers. The role is based in APAC and reports to the Global Mobility Leader, with coordination to the lead based in Canada.

• Proactively manage Global Expatriate Management Cycle with strong partnerships with People Business Partners
• Proactively engage with active assignees for engagement and regular connections
• Develop and maintain effective key stakeholder relationships globally
• Identify and mitigate risks in Global Mobility areas (immigration matters, employer taxes, relocation management)
• Pre-assessment management – consult with business leaders on the purpose of the move, complete cost projections, collaborate with People team on talent profile of candidate
• Provide subject matter expertise and consult with key stakeholders (People and Talent Acquisition teams, Business leaders, Finance/Payroll, Legal) on Global Mobility standards interpretation for various assignments and relocations
• Provide regular and relevant insights on Global Mobility trends
• Be the main point of contact for APAC immigration matters for international moves to and within APAC
• Collaborate with the Global Mobility Leader on immigration and relocation program enhancements and projects
• Support the People, Talent Acquisition teams and Business on all Global Mobility related matters

Education:
Bachelor's degree holder; Master’s degree preferred (but not required)

Experience:

• General Experience: Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (8+ years); managerial experience not required (Individual Contributor)
• Extensive background in all aspects of Global Mobility (immigration, tax, payroll, mobilizations/assignments on international projects, lifecycle, relocation management and third-party coordination)
• Experience handling inter-country transfers across the Asia Pacific region (APAC)
• Strong analytical thinking and responsiveness to dynamic business environments
• Provide expert guidance to employees, managers, and HR partners on global mobility programs, policy compliance, and strategic talent mobility
• Excellent communication skills to advise diverse stakeholders
• Initiative-driven, proactive and autonomous
• Able to work on a schedule that supports APAC region with direct reporting to a leader based in Canada (mid-shift to overlap APAC/US time)
