What You’ll Do As Labour and Employment Counsel, you will be entrusted with guiding the organisation through the complexities of employment law while nurturing positive relationships across all levels of staff. Your day‑to‑day activities will involve drafting essential HR documents that set the tone for workplace conduct, conducting sensitive investigations into employee concerns, representing the company during disputes or negotiations, and providing strategic advice on major organisational changes. Advise the organisation on local labour and employment laws by proactively identifying risks and recommending compliant strategies. Assist with international employee transfers and global mobility matters. Conduct fair, confidential investigations into employee misconduct. Draft, review, and update employment contracts, handbooks, non‑compete agreements, and HR policies. Handle disputes between employees and the organisation with professionalism. Lead employment‑related compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to statutory requirements. Offer strategic legal advice on restructuring, layoffs, mergers, acquisitions, and organisational changes. Provide day‑to‑day legal guidance on employee relations issues and HR decision‑making. Support large‑scale workforce reduction programmes with legal compliance and employee wellbeing. What You Bring Active Bar membership. At least 5 years of proven legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years specialising in labour and employment matters. Capacity to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Exceptional written communication skills. Experience conducting fair, structured workplace investigations. Experience in BPO or Shared Services environments is highly preferred. Sound judgement in handling complex issues. Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills to handle confidential concerns with discretion and empathy.
