Project-based On-Site Architectural Design Officer (South) – SMDC Pasay, National Capital Region, Philippines

The On-Site Design Manager is responsible for overseeing design-related aspects of construction projects directly at the site. This role ensures that the design intent is accurately implemented, coordinates with contractors and consultants, and resolves design issues during construction. The architect/engineer acts as a bridge between design and execution, maintaining quality, compliance, and timely delivery.

• Design Implementation & Oversight – Ensure architectural/engineering plans and specifications are correctly interpreted and executed on-site.
• Design Implementation & Oversight – Monitor construction activities to verify alignment with approved drawings and design intent.
• Design Implementation & Oversight – Provide, review and approve all necessary site drawings including but not limited to shop drawings, spot details (RFA/RFI).
• Design Implementation & Oversight – Conduct regular inspections and site walks to assess progress and quality.
• Design Implementation & Oversight – Check all materials associated with installations in accordance with approved submittals and product data to ensure compliance.
• Coordination & Communication – Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design-related issues.
• Coordination & Communication – Attend coordination meetings and provide architectural input during site discussions; presides the design coordination meetings.
• Coordination & Communication – Liaise with the design team for clarifications, revisions, and updates.
• Coordination & Communication – Participate, coordinate and schedule all consultant's attendance during construction meetings and periodic site inspections.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Review all materials and finishes associated with installations in accordance with approved submittals and product data to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Ensure construction adheres to building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Prepare and submit architectural/engineering inspection requests and punch lists.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Check the progress of construction is properly executed during execution phase.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Prepare punch list reports of all defective, deficient, incomplete, and unsatisfactory works for correction and repair.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Conduct spot checking and examine/evaluate the quality of installations to maintain compliance with construction standards and specifications.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Check the testing and sampling of materials and ascertain that all samples requiring testing are properly done, recorded and reported.
• Documentation & Reporting – Maintain updated records of architectural drawings, revisions, and site instructions.
• Documentation & Reporting – Prepare daily or weekly site reports highlighting architectural concerns and progress.
• Documentation & Reporting – Spot checking as-built drawings and documentation for internal reference.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Provide immediate solutions to architectural issues encountered during construction.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Recommend design adjustments when necessary, ensuring feasibility and compliance.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Support the project site team with technical details and clarifications.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Maintain inspection checklist, reports and records in a complete, accurate and orderly manner.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Prepare weekly progress reports to PIDS ADMR and EDMR Leads.
• Problem Solving & Technical Support – Perform other tasks as instructed by immediate superior.

• Must be a graduate of Architecture and/or Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of work experience related to construction operation
• Must be focused, driven, a team player
• Can work under pressure
• With acceptable oral and written communication skills
• With expertise in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat
• Knowledge and experience in infrastructure development and civil works is a plus
