Lawyer/legal consultant, Corporate & Finance Join to apply for the Lawyer/legal consultant, Corporate & Finance role at ClientEarth. This is an excellent opportunity for a Philippines qualified lawyer to contribute to the work of ClientEarth. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the low‑carbon transition in the Philippines and across Asia, leveraging their expertise in corporate and finance law. ClientEarth is a group of international legal experts on climate, energy, and the environment. We use the law in partnership with governments, the private sector, and the public to address climate change, capture the opportunities of the low‑carbon transition, and protect nature. Our global team of corporate and financial law experts specializes in climate risk and decarbonization, working across nine offices in Europe, Asia and North America. Meet your Manager In this role, you will be managed by Raphael Soffer , Climate & Energy Asia Lead lawyer. Raphael joined ClientEarth in 2018 and is based in Tokyo. He collaborates with civil society, regulators, and the private sector to facilitate the transition to a net‑zero economy. Raphael focuses on strengthening corporate climate accountability standards and the recognition of climate risks. He also assists organisations aiming at speeding up the coal‑to‑clean transition in the Asia‑Pacific region. Main Duties Legal Research, analysis and thought leadership – conduct research, prepare analysis, identify opportunities and help shape and deliver our strategy in the Philippines. Strategic Development – build and maintain a network of relationships in the Philippines, contribute to the development and implementation of ClientEarth's strategic priorities in the Philippines, ensuring alignment with regional and global strategies. Stakeholder Engagement – build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Role requirements Relevant legal professional qualification in the Philippines. Experience in corporate and financial law, including recent developments and trends regarding ESG, sustainability and CSR. Strong interest in energy transition and the intersection of climate change and business. Knowledge of formal and informal relationships, working practices etc. regarding business and financial regulators, institutions, markets and transactions in the Philippines.
