Job Description - Patients Accounts Coordinator-Temporary Services (T )
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Temporary Services is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator responsible for conducting third-party claims activities. The role involves ensuring billing edits are corrected promptly, working with external claims payers, resolving billing issues and credit balances, auditing Explanations of Benefits (EOBs), handling patient calls, and assisting walk-in patients with financial planning for dental services.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing customer service via phone and in person.
- Processing patient accounts, identifying delinquent accounts, counseling patients, managing insurance claims, and preparing reports.
- Setting up new patient accounts, entering charges, payments, and adjustments, and preparing bills for payment.
- Balancing and posting collected funds.
- Monitoring outstanding balances.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma with 5 years of related experience.
