Freelance Load Planning Specialist The Freelance Load Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating trailer loads to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery operations. This role focuses on optimizing load layouts, sequencing pallets, and supporting smooth loading and unloading processes to maximize delivery efficiency and driver productivity. Key Responsibilities Load Planning & Optimization: Use load‑planning tools and software to design and assemble trailer loads that maximize space utilization and delivery efficiency while maintaining safety standards. Operational Support: Coordinate with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure all materials, equipment, and supplies are available for timely loading and unloading. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve driver or warehouse concerns related to load configuration; adjust plans promptly to maintain schedules and optimize routes. Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of load plans, equipment usage, and supply inventories; order materials as needed to support daily operations. Hands‑On Assistance: Support loading operations when required to meet production and dispatch goals. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field is a plus). At least 1 year of experience in warehouse, logistics, or transportation (pick‑pack‑ship background highly valued). Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Effective communication skills—both verbal and written. Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with load‑planning or Truck Builder software is an advantage. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to assist across departments as needed. Preferred Attributes Familiarity with route optimization or fleet logistics. Ability to visualize spatial arrangements and plan efficient pallet and trailer layouts (video gaming or similar skills involving quick spatial decision‑making can be a plus). Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
