Junior Bookkeeper

Overview

About the role: Perform bookkeeping, tax, consulting services efficiently and profitably. Responsibilities include managing and performing consulting, tax, and bookkeeping projects for clients with comprehensive and timely time-entry preparation (engagement, work code, and description of time).

• Manage and perform consulting and tax and bookkeeping projects for clients
• Comprehensive and timely preparation of time entry including engagement, work code, and description of time
• Record day to day financial transactions and complete posting and processing
• Maintain and update accounting records and monitoring logs
• Review documents related to payment processing, collection, or sales
• Reconcile data between documents and system records
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial reports
• Assist in audits by organizing and presenting financial documents as needed
• Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure accuracy

• Experience in UK accounting; multiple clients or public accounting firm experience
• Competent, strategic, quick learner; good analytical skills
• High standards and goals; ability to develop people and address underperformance
• Attentive to details, organized, committed, and able to work calmly under pressure
• Technical skills: QuickBooks Online or Xero (required)
• Relevant education in accounting/finance; associate or bachelor’s preferred; certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) a plus
• Strong communication and time-management skills; ability to work independently and in a team
