Title Business Analyst Division Technical Team Reports To Head of Operations & Customer Success Summary The Business Analyst is a key role in the Technical Services for the deployment of Hummingbirds PPM solution. They are responsible for understanding the client’s working environment and translating business requirements into functional specifications for platform configuration. The Analyst works closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, review PMO artifacts, and conduct workshops to assess business needs, ensuring alignment between client expectations and system configuration. By leading solution workshops and showcasing the platform’s capabilities, the BA ensures alignment between client expectations and system configuration. They play a key role in developing Solution Blueprints, answering technical queries, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency within both the Client and Hummingbird’s environments. This role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and a passion for optimising business. Responsibilities Report to the Client Engagement Lead, working within a team of three, responsible for core configuration structures and translating clients’ functional requirements into the Planview Platform. Support the Delivery Services Director in providing subject‑matter expertise for pre‑sales and sales engagements. Work closely with delivery and technical teams to advise on best‑possible solutions aligned to client requirements, challenging current practice to drive innovation. Communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Pro‑actively support and manage customer‑focused workshops, showing agility, flexibility and creative solutioning aligned to the Hummingbird line of business products and services. Support the technical team in client escalation for all implementations. Manage and collaborate closely with the Hummingbird Functional services team (Client Engagement Lead, PPM Analyst) and the technical team (Technical PPM Analysts, BI and Integration Analysts). Become a subject‑matter expert on Planview Portfolios to advise and instruct on optimal configuration based on business requirements. Act as lead BA consultant to deliver subject‑matter expertise in pre‑sales and delivery engagements, executing projects per agreed work plans and directing consultants as needed. Provide project status information to delivery managers or project managers, including risk identification, task delay and task completion estimates, and confirm completion expectations have been met. Proactively alert project teams of potential problems based on strong knowledge of the Planview solution in the customer’s environment. Direct and review comprehensive documentation around solution design and project delivery, working closely with the technical team to understand design and implementation. Identify, analyse and manage technical risks within consultancy engagements, assisting strategic decisions on resource utilisation. Participate in strategic project review sessions to share lessons learned, contributing to knowledge feedback loops and new service offering creation. Develop skills and attend prescribed training with the Client Engagement Lead, maintaining performance accountability and commitment to personal learning. Provide guidance to client teams or third‑party partners to collaborate and implement the technical solution, building mutual support across functions. Support the PPM Analyst in preparing, maintaining and submitting activity/progress reports and time‑recording/management reports as per Hummingbirds procedures. Assist in or be responsible for creating knowledge‑management articles and perform all related tasks as defined by processes, procedures and personal KPIs. Represent Hummingbird professionally to the customer at all times. Mentor technical and functional team staff within specialist areas. Willingness to work on a flexible schedule and travel where required. Qualifications Certified consultant or technology equivalent accredited in specialist area (e.g., Prince2, PMBOK, PMI, AGILE, SCRUM). Business or similar degree qualification preferred. Experience Experience within the IT industry, financial services, other services or business consulting. Experience with large‑scale digital transformations. Exposure to developing strategies and formulating roadmaps. Experience delivering major business solutions. Knowledge Advantageous to have knowledge of network solutions, operating systems and technology integration across infrastructure and application aspects. Appreciation of multiple technology platforms. Knowledge and experience of related computer applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge or experience with PPM solutions greatly advantageous. Advantageous to have knowledge of financial systems and general financial management principles. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
