About The Job We are looking for a forward‑thinking Director of Engineering to oversee the maintenance, repair and operation of the property’s physical infrastructure and technical systems, ensuring all facilities operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with brand standards and legal regulations. Responsibilities Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring effective scheduling, training and performance evaluation. Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building systems. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including regular inspections and audits. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for outsourced maintenance, repairs and renovation projects. Monitor energy consumption and support sustainability initiatives to optimise efficiency and reduce costs. Manage the engineering budget, controlling costs while maintaining service quality. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, minimizing downtime and guest inconvenience. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment logs and compliance documentation. Collaborate with other departments to support refurbishments, new installations and technical upgrades. Ensure the safety and functionality of all technical systems to provide a secure and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues. Qualifications Proven experience managing engineering operations in luxury hospitality or large‑scale facilities. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building maintenance systems. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Sound understanding of safety, environmental and building regulations. Effective problem‑solving and organisational abilities. Experience managing budgets and supplier relationships. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally. Flexibility to handle emergencies and work varied shifts. Fluency in English; other languages are advantageous.
