Key skills and qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Product knowledge and the ability to learn about new items. Basic math and computing skills. Time management and organizational skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is often required, with some employers preferring degrees for specialized roles.
