The DCX Client Services - Home-Based Senior Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller, and the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for core accounting functions, including month-end close, account reconciliations, cash accounting, and tax remittance. The Senior Accountant will work closely with both the general ledger and tax functions, supporting audits, bank examinations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Required Core Competencies

• Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in journal entries, reconciliations, tax filings, and audit documentation demands a meticulous approach to catch and correct discrepancies and avoid compliance issues.
• Analytical Thinking: Evaluating variances in reconciliations, tracking amortizations, and proactively identifying process improvements require a strong ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
• Communication and Collaboration: The role involves working with cross-functional teams and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies, making clear and professional communication a must.
• Time Management and Organization: With multiple deadlines for tax filings, audits, and monthly close activities, effective prioritization and organization are crucial to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Initiative and Problem Solving: Proactively addressing discrepancies, streamlining accounting processes, and assisting with audit readiness show the importance of being resourceful and solutions-oriented.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries and accruals.

• Perform expense allocations in accordance with internal policies.

• Record cash transactions and intercompany transfers in the cash sub-ledger.

• Reconcile corporate bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.

• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of variances.

• Track and amortize prepaid expenses.

• Calculate and record commercial insurance accruals.

• Prepare and submit sales tax filings for multiple states and jurisdictions.

• Prepare and remit state and local income taxes in accordance with applicable deadlines.

• Coordinate filing and payment of required annual reports across states.

• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and gather supporting documentation for the annual financial audit.

• Support the preparation and document retrieval process for the annual bank exam.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the general accounting function.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Language Proficiency : Strong verbal, written, and English communication skills.

• Working schedule : Ability to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or within US operating hours.

• Technical Skills:

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• Proficiency with general ledger systems; experience with Sage Intacct a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; intermediate in Word and Outlook.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
