Procurement Specialist Join to apply for the Procurement Specialist role at Banh Mi Kitchen Services, Inc. Responsibilities Identify and research potential suppliers to meet the organization’s needs. Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts and pricing. Develop procurement strategies that minimize costs and risks while ensuring needs are met. Source and purchase goods and services, including negotiating contracts and pricing. Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies and regulations. Maintain accurate procurement records and use data to inform decisions. Manage the procurement budget, forecast costs, and implement cost‑saving strategies. Coordinate with finance, accounting, and legal departments to align procurement with organizational goals. Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks related to goods and services. Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and service level requirements are met. Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and originating departments. Maintain a complete database of all suppliers with contacts and accreditation documents. Expand supplier database and conduct background checks on suppliers. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. Negotiate lower costs for materials and supplies. Ensure proper recording and orderly filing of each transaction. Obtain reasonable payment terms and ensure purchases are accounted for by checking deliveries. Check shipments upon arrival to verify order accuracy and compliance with specifications. Locate suppliers using catalogs, the internet, and direct interviews to gather product information. Determine inventory sufficiency and order additional materials when necessary. Respond to customer and supplier inquiries and resolve shortages or delivery issues. Review requisition orders for accuracy, terminology, and specifications. Assist with branch opening kits/equipment purchases. Prepare monthly costing reports for all purchased orders in the Commissary Department. Create new product costing based on supplier costs and submit to Accounting and Finance Manager. Qualifications Graduate of a business management course or related field. At least five (5) years of experience in a similar procurement role. Supply‑chain knowledge and understanding. Proficiency with procurement systems. Knowledge of the three‑supplier rule. Certification in supply chain is a plus. People‑management skills. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of others. Ability to multitask and manage requests in a timely manner. Integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and tenacity. Honesty, adaptability, willingness to learn, and team spirit. Customer‑focused attitude and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
