Home Based US Senior Accountant

Overview The DCX Client Services - Home Based Senior Accountant will work as a full-time employee for a growing business based in the United States. You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by the company. The daily tasks will vary so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having a strong attention to detail, ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills. Effective communication skills with a problem-solving attitude Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures Role Details Industry: Finance Work Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (USA) Workdays: Monday through Friday (USA) Written and spoken English skill: Very Proficient Salary Range: 75,000 Job Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries Manage month-end and year-end closing activities Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax filing preparations Coordinate and assist with external and internal audits Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Oversee fixed asset accounting, accruals, and prepaid schedules Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations Ad hoc duties as assigned Skills and expertise Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting Advanced excel skillset Experience with monthly close processes - journal entries for allocations, prepaids, fixed assets, bank transactions, sales tax, payroll, commissions, etc. Experience with monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance explanations Monthly variance analysis for income statement and balance sheet both budget vs. actual and prior period analysis Experience with annual audits and client provided details Preferrable skills Budget preparation/compilation Re-forecasting budgets through the year Detailed financial analysis Additional Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field. Experience: 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable/Payable and/or General Accounting experience. Proficiency in most Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word, and Outlook. Strong working knowledge using Excel, pivot tables, advanced formulas etc. Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP. Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is required.
