BIAN Business Architect

Thakral One is looking for a BIAN Business Architect to lead core banking transformation by aligning business and technology capabilities with the BIAN framework. The role includes defining target architectures, service domains, APIs, and workflows while driving innovation in customer experience and data management. Candidates should have strong banking expertise, experience in large-scale transformations, and the ability to engage senior stakeholders and represent the bank in BIAN forums.

• Lead the creation of coalesced views of business capabilities and technology capabilities
• Champion ideas which improve technology value delivery
• Demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking and innovation for enterprise solutions (focus on customer impact/experience, responsive design, data management & analytics)
• Participate in the opportunity assessment process used to evaluate new business opportunities and new technologies
• Lead the architecture and enabling technologies strategy for core banking domain
• Extended knowledge and experience in retail and corporate banking
• Experience in leading core banking transformation programmes
• Define solutions for enterprise with a vision for big-bang, strangled modernisation and transformation
• Understanding of security and infrastructure patterns
• Understanding of APIs and events patterns and ability to guide implementations
• Outstanding presentation skills to support strategy socialisation
• Senior stakeholder management; deliver deep industry insights to customers based on current trends and competitive dynamics
• Capable of establishing trusted relationships with the business and acting as a liaison between business and IT
• Understand how technology, processes, people and data fit together to deliver business outcomes
• Understanding of regulatory framework for retail and corporate mapping
• Excellent problem resolution and people management skills
• Ability to meet governance forum requirements
• Define target architectures, roadmaps, and timescales to maximize effective use of technology
• Lead the full life cycle delivery of technical solutions for business projects from concept to operation
• Understanding of the BIAN capability model
• Identify service domains and create an aligned bank capability model
• Understand BQs, CRs, service domains and map bank entities accordingly
• Define BIAN-aligned API contracts
• Define workflows for business processes describing service domain communication
• Represent the bank in BIAN global forums and provide feedback to BIAN on identified gaps
• Understand Business Object Model and map the bank’s data to the Business Object Model (BOM)
• Experience in effort estimation, deal costing, and architecting multi-million-dollar deals
• Understanding of enterprise banking capabilities and mapping of applications to capabilities
• Experience in setting up and chairing architecture governance forums
• Lead the architecture stream of a transformation programme and be its external face
• Proactive problem solving and capability to propose improvements to clients
• BIAN certification is preferred
• Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture
