Conduct risk assessments to determine appropriate coverage levels and premiums. 5. Communicate with insurance agents, brokers, and clients to clarify coverage details and gather necessary information. 6. Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and documentation. Key Responsibilities Risk Data Triage and Analysis: Conduct initial review of P&C new business applications, policy change requests, and renewal data. Verify that submissions align with territorial and class of business eligibility rules. Exposure Gathering: Compile and analyze specific P&C risk data points, including loss runs, inspection reports, motor vehicle records (MVRs), financial statements, and property valuation data. System Input & Rating: Accurately enter and verify risk data into the rating and policy administration systems. Assist underwriters in generating initial premium indications and policy quotes. Agent/Broker Service: Act as a critical service contact for our agents, addressing routine questions about submission status, required documentation, and basic rating methodologies. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous electronic files, ensuring all necessary supporting documents (binders, loss control reports, signed applications) are secured. Ensure adherence to state-specific regulatory requirements for filing and policy issuance. Referral Preparation: Prepare a clear, concise summary of complex risks, those with adverse loss history, or risks exceeding binding authority for referral to a Senior Underwriter.
