RoleThe Business Continuity Governance Officer reports to the Sr. Business Continuity Executive. This role requires strong knowledge of business continuity planning methodologies, compliances & reporting, and support of critical business operations. The Governance Officer oversees the implementation of best practices and ensures regulatory compliance, contributing to the success of the program.
Responsibilities- Partner with the Sr. Director and Sr. BC Executive in developing and implementing business continuity governance frameworks. Shape and implement governance structures by directing the BC system of rules, practices, and processes.
- Develop, implement, and review systems, procedures, and controls to ensure continuous improvement of governance and risk management. Improve program efficiency and effectiveness; maintain processes to ensure timely completion of compliance audits.
- Ensure all TaskUs Business Continuity Policy, SOPs, and related documents are up-to-date and properly stored in the PowerUs KA.
- Compliance monitoring: ensure the program complies with relevant policies and international standards; identify compliance risks and implement corrective measures; manage the Business Continuity Activity Calendar; ensure partner compliance (IT Disaster Recovery, Physical Safety & Security); represent BCM in internal and external audits and assessments.
- Coordinate with the Senior Management Team in real time during incidents or potential interruptions.
- Serve as Subject-Matter-Expert in administering Risk Assessments, Business Impact Analyses, and BC strategy development for plans.
- Collaborate with Operations and Client Services to ensure understanding of BCDR plans across campaigns.
- Identify, understand, manage, mitigate, remediate, or accept risks and issues assigned globally.
- Stay informed on current events affecting sites and employees; monitor and report to IMC on potential or ongoing incidents/crises.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Professional certification and training (DRII, BCI, etc.) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Business Continuity Life Cycle, methodologies, and policies.
- Experience in audits (ISO 27001, ISO 23001, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, etc.).
- Knowledge of IT disaster recovery and facilities redundancies is an advantage.
- Ability to develop reports and presentations (PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience in stakeholder management is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge and experience in BPO is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure; effective coordination during crises, emergencies, or security incidents.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of planning and organizing work; available on a 24x7 basis and able to participate in on-call and shifting schedules.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change (shifting schedules, long hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call).
- Effective communication tailored to the audience with facilitation and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel for inspections, audits, and client presentations as needed.
- Knowledge and experience using Smartsheet, Google Slides, and Google Sheets is a must.
