Logistics Operations Officer

Overview

BayWa r.e. Solar Trade is part of the global BayWa r.e. group, with a focus on solar energy and the renewable energy transition. In APAC, we have more than 250 employees across country offices (Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Australia). We supply installers with high-quality solar components and offer customer service that aims to set a standard in the solar wholesale industry. The role is based in the Philippines.

What The Role Entails

The Logistics Operations Officer will operate shipments with suppliers, coordinate with 3PL, and support sales through to end customers. Responsibilities include arranging transportation, handling documentation, producing reports, and performing other related activities as assigned.

What You Will Do

• Handle end-to-end logistics activities.
• Understand import/export regulations and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Manage import/export procedures including customs formalities and documentation.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping agents for freight charge negotiation, accurate import/export declarations, and other logistics activities.
• Evaluate and optimize costs related to products, transportation, import, and warehousing.
• Perform warehousing and inventory control using ERP systems.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team for material receiving and order fulfilment.
• Manage order management and monitor sales orders including truck booking, planning, and document preparation.
• Prepare transportation claim reports.
• Monitor logistics payment plans and verify logistics bills.
• Manage department documentation, reports, and filing.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain and Logistics and Warehouse Management or a similar role (solar or distribution experience is advantageous).
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain/logistics management, or a similar field is preferred.
• Strong planning skills and knowledge of supply chain, import/export, inventory management, and distribution.
• Very good English in writing and speaking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
• Aggressive negotiating skills and assertiveness.
• Commercial contract experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, positive mindset, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete department tasks as assigned.
• Experience working across multiple functions and countries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
