Responsibilities
  • PRIMARY ROLE
    • MS-SQL, MySQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL (On-premise / Cloud AWS (EC2/RDS))
    • Instance provisioning
    • Database and schema creation
    • Database and schema security / access control
    • Database backup and restoration
    • Database replication / synchronization (e.g. SQL Server replication etc.)
    • Database AWS Security groups/whitelisting, parameter groups, subnet groups
    • Performance & Availability monitoring (AWS CloudWatch, Cron scripts, etc.)
    • Database Integration and connectivity with other Databases & Systems / Database Links
    • Database Cloning
    • Database Archiving
  • SECONDARY ROLE
    • MS-SQL, MySQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL (On-premise / Cloud AWS (EC2/RDS))
    • Assist developers on database architecture & design when needed
Minimum Requirements
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Cloud computing concepts
    • Basic Networking (TCP/IP) / Firewall concepts
    • DNS/DHCP/IP Address Management
    • Storage subsystems (NAS/SAN)
    • Virtualization / Hypervisor
  • Main Skill Set
    • DB Administration MS-SQL, MySQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL (On-premise / Cloud AWS (EC2/RDS))
    • Cloud Infrastructure with focus on database systems
    • (AWS - EC2 / RDS || GCP - GCE / CloudSQL)
    • OS Administration (Linux/Unix, Windows)
