Overview

Sr. IT Business Analyst (Data Governance) with Manulife's Asia Data Office (ADO) focusing on data governance and enablement within Asia. The role delivers outcomes based on tactical and strategic priorities set by the Head of Data Enablement & Governance.

Responsibilities
  • Access Framework: Own the access framework for Asia EDL; deliver on standards, processes and procedures; partner with different markets in Asia to implement.
  • Metadata Management: Develop, implement, and maintain metadata standards and best practices to ensure data is correctly classified, organized, and accessible; collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure requirements are met; conduct regular audits and quality checks for metadata integrity.
  • Information Security: Support implementation of information security standards; support rollout of related tools and automation; assist in development and implementation of Data Enablement framework and processes; contribute to Asia Data strategy; lead internal and external reviews/audits pertaining to access and information security.
  • Leadership: Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability, service-mindedness, mentorship, and training for data users and related communities.
Required Qualifications

Education & experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Library Sciences, Computer Sciences, Cyber or Information Security
  • 8+ years of progressive responsibility in one or more areas such as Information Security, records handling in large organizations, development of organization-wide data policies and processes; experience in managing information security in large organizations is an asset

Technical proficiency

  • Understanding of tools/platforms such as Apache Ranger and Atlas, Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra Data Governance Centre, Microsoft Purview
  • Basic understanding of databases (SQL, Oracle, NoSQL); Microsoft Office suite; demonstrated data management and information security knowledge
  • Ability to translate terminology between technical and business users; change champion with ability to implement improvements; collaborate with diverse teams; self-sufficient; effective analysis and presentation skills; lead through coaching and mentorship; strong written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is highly desirable
