The Role

The Senior Accountant is primarily tasked to render effective and efficient recording of all financial transactions for the organization. The responsibilities include generating regular financial statements for top management, and ensuring compliance with fiduciary/statutory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits financial reports in an accurate, complete, and timely manner (e.g., Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows) and supporting schedules.
  • Reviews vouchers to verify the accuracy of computations, completeness of documents, and accuracy of journal entries.
  • Reviews and maintains Books of Accounts, General Ledger (GL), and Subsidiary Ledger (SL) and all accounting records.
  • Submits via e-filing the following BIR reportorial requirements: Monthly Withholding Tax on Compensation (1601-C), Monthly Expanded Withholding Tax (1601-E), Monthly VAT (2550M), Quarterly VAT (2550Q), Quarterly Fringe Benefit Tax (1603), Quarterly Income Tax Return (1702Q), Annual Income Tax Return (1702), MAP, SAWT, RELIEF.
  • Reviews and monitors filing of other reportorial requirements under new BIR revenue memoranda and regulations.
  • Reviews and monitors the filing and remittance to SSS contributions and loans, Pag-IBIG loans.
  • Reviews specific documents (e.g., SSS Loan Applications, Philhealth contributions, and related SSS/PHIC forms).
  • Oversees processing of compensation and benefits.
  • Attends internal and external meetings; responds to business-related communications; interfaces with auditors, BIR officers, and local government representatives.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Capital budgeting and asset control; applicable concepts in systems and procedures; current trends; corporate work ethics; legislative requirements.
  • Skills: Technical accounting skills, interpersonal skills, research techniques, mathematical applications; resource and program management; adaptability; computer proficiency with accounting software; multitasking; general office equipment operation.
  • Educational Qualification: BS Accountancy, CPA.
  • Work Experience: Two to five years of solid experience as Chief Accountant in a construction company.
  • Behavioral Competencies: High integrity, adaptability, sound decision-making, collaboration.
