Key Job Duties and Responsibilities Lead trackworker crew in maintenance of track facilities and related activities. Coordinate all work activities, ensuring compliance with railroad safety rules and regulations. Receive orders from the supervisor and allocate maintenance tasks to crew. Record details of repairs and maintenance, preparing progress reports. Conduct train rides, patrol, visual inspections, and perform minor repairs with crew. Train, instruct, and supervise trackworkers, ensuring accurate, complete work adheres to safety standards. Guide technicians in withdrawal of track work spares, consumables, equipment, and tools. Supervise sorting of track materials and equipment during loading/unloading. Maintain all materials, tools, and equipment used by crew. Receive and follow instructions from bulletins, memorandums, rules, and regulation manuals. Communicate clear work location and shift schedules to crew. Assist supervisor in gathering data for management reporting. Lead safety discussions, toolbox talks, and process reviews. Lead daily housekeeping, ensuring tracks are unobstructed. Report accidents and incidents promptly to supervisor. Enforce company codes, policies, agreements, rules, and regulations.
