RoleThe Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role. You provide technical leadership and guidance in customers’ security transformation journeys, define technical solutions that secure business imperatives, and ensure value realization of investments with Palo Alto Networks. You evangelize our leadership in on-prem, cloud, and security operations services and establish PANW as the cybersecurity partner of choice.
Your Impact
Curiosity is core to the Solutions Consultant role. You define impact by:
- Establishing a track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas by building and implementing strategic, technical account plans that target cross-platform solutions.
- Understanding customer business requirements and the ability to position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the PANW portfolio, creating business value. Mastery of Early Stage evangelism, with customers proactively seeking guidance.
- Driving customer adoption of the Palo Alto Networks Platform. Building trust and deep customer relationships, delivering on promises, and increasing productivity, security efficacy, and flexibility to innovate.
- Owning technical account strategy and conducting discovery to articulate key technical, operational, and commercial imperatives.
- Driving comprehensive customer engagement with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure adoption of solutions and high customer satisfaction.
- Leading technical validation efforts based on best practices to win opportunities.
- Practicing cross-functional leadership to orchestrate resources for a one-team approach.
- Promoting end-to-end solutions that include PANW and partner professional services to realize business value sooner.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and differentiating PANW’s leadership in cybersecurity.
- Investing in technical and professional skills and participating in the Solutions Consultant community and industry events.
- Identifying stakeholders and building relationships to drive a security architecture transformation roadmap.
Your Experience
- 8+ years of experience in pre-sales/sales engineering
- Extensive knowledge in at least one area: Networking, Network Security, Cybersecurity, Private/Public Cloud Security, SOC/Endpoint, or SASE
- Owner of technical account strategy in Palo Alto or similar role
- Experience with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives
- Delivering cybersecurity solutions that solve technical challenges and influence business initiatives
- Influencing and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders; pre-sales experience preferred
- Creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or technical validation engagements
- Experience with solutions such as Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP and/or SOC Transformation Technologies
- Experience assisting a customer support-like function to ensure successful implementation and adoption
- Experience with complex sales involving long cycles and multiple buying centers
- Proficient in English
