About the Role:
The Reinsurance Analyst will be responsible for certain aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts. Reporting to the VP of Reinsurance Finance and working closely with the finance team.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Processing of all aspects of quota share programs including bordereau reporting and cash allocation in SICS
• Review all incoming loss reports for listing of insureds by name and major loss events
• Review and confirmation of contract data in SICS to original contract wording
• Liaise with Finance and Claims teams regarding all aspects of the role
Secondary Responsibilities may include:
• Processing premium information on excess of loss contracts including endorsements and premium adjustments in SICS
• Maintain underwriting cash books and post to SICS
• Pairing of cash receivable in SICS
• Enter the data into the FinScan app
• Experience & Skills Needed:
• Technical knowledge of reinsurance terms, contracts, reserving and settlement
• Understanding of accounting for quota share and excess of loss contracts and the ability to read and understand contracts
• Experience with reinsurance underwriting accounting systems e.g. DXC SICS
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, primarily Excel
• Very strong analytical, documentation, organizational and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
• A strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative and work without supervision
