Overview
About the role: Perform bookkeeping, tax, consulting services efficiently and profitably. This role involves managing and performing consulting and tax and bookkeeping projects for clients, with comprehensive and timely preparation of time entries including engagement, work code, and description of time. This remote position is posted by multiple postings and includes working with UK accounting requirements and diverse clients.
Responsibilities- Manage and perform consulting and tax and bookkeeping projects for clients
- Comprehensive and timely preparation of time entry including engagement, work code, and description of time
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting & processing
- Maintain and update accounting records and monitoring logs
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and on time
- Prepare and maintain various financial reports, statements, and summaries for management review
- Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in financial data and resolve issues
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure accuracy
- Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Provide support during audits by organizing and presenting financial documents
- Experience in UK Accounting
- Multiple clients or public accounting firm experience
- Competent, strategic, and quick learner with good analytical skills
- High standards and goals with ability to develop people
- Attentive to detail, organized, committed, and able to work calmly under pressure
- Technical Skills: QuickBooks Online or Xero experience required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- US/UK tax knowledge where applicable; experience with US Form 1040 and VAT/Tax concepts as relevant
- Experience with e-commerce bookkeeping and reconciliation (PayPal, Stripe) preferred
- Experience with MYOB, Xero or QuickBooks depending on posting
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements; ability to support audits
- Remote work capability; willingness to adapt to UK/MNL UK time zones as required
