What We Are Looking For

We are currently searching for a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting practices with strong proficiency in U.S. GAAP. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing tax filings, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards. We value professionals who are detail-oriented, have excellent problem-solving skills, and can clearly communicate financial information while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire accounting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Conduct monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Administer accounts payable and receivable, ensuring efficient processing, payment of invoices, and collection of revenue.
  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls and policies to ensure financial data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial practices.
  • Participate in budget preparation and financial forecasting, providing insights and analysis for strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and optimize accounting software and systems to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to management, highlighting key trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Act as a financial advisor within the startup, offering guidance on financial best practices, expense management, and investment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting for U.S. companies.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting software, with strong preference for QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation.
  • Fully fluent in English.
  • Ability to commit to long-term, full-time work.
  • Ability to work U.S. business hours (Pacific, Central, or Eastern Time).
