Responsibilities Bookkeeping Reconciliation of bank accounts for multiple entities in multiple currencies, including interest income, payment of bills, intercompany transfers/payments on behalf of other entities. Append GST/GL/tracking categories without assistance, e.g., identification of prepayments, fixed assets, and accruals. Running simple payrolls: basic termination calculations, adding new employees, managing leave. Prepare BAS/IAS autonomously and reconcile GST discrepancies. Maintain accounts payable: process invoices, generate ABA files, track failed payments. Navigate NAB Connect / CommBiz platforms. Month‑end processing Update worksheet tabs for bank reconciliations, super, PAYGW, etc. Update prepayments, fixed assets, accrued interest recs. Post intercompany journals including non‑cash entries and balancing entries. Review P&L for discrepancies/variances and update accordingly. Prepare accrued expenses ledger for known expenses. Qualifications & Skills At least 1 year of experience working with an Australian accounting firm in public practice. Preferred CPA qualification. Processed payroll for a business with 20+ staff. Accounts payable clerk experience for a business with 20+ bills, including regular liaison with suppliers. Prepared BAS workpapers from Excel and/or Xero. Desirable: Experience with Xero Blue & Xero Practice Manager; running Australian payroll & managing payroll tax; previous experience managing a portfolio of clients in an Australian accounting practice.
