The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Australian tax codes, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing tax compliance and planning for international business entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Review:
- Ensure full compliance with Australian tax laws, including GST, income tax, payroll tax, and other relevant regulations.
- Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns and other required documentation.
- Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from Australian tax authorities.
Advisory Services:
- Provide expert tax advice to various departments, including finance, operations, and legal teams.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian tax legislation and advise the company on necessary actions.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring continuous development and performance improvement.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants as needed.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement processes to improve tax compliance efficiency.
- Utilize tax technology and software to streamline tax reporting and compliance processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CTA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 57 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on Australian tax laws and regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to nonexperts.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and team management experience minimum 7 years in Manager role
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities.
