Financial Reporting Assistant Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible in the planning, organizing and controlling the overall operation of the Financial Reporting Section; assists management in formulating and enforcing policies and procedures that will ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting to management and others who rely on the company's financial reports.
- Plans and manages the day-to-day activities of Financial Reporting; coordinates and/or advises concerned offices on financial reporting and control matters.
- Keeps abreast of the latest accounting and financial reporting standards and evaluates the impact in the company's systems and processes. Recommends changes in company policies and procedures, if necessary.
- Coordinates and conducts briefings/updates with other departments on issues affecting financial reporting. Prepares management accounting reports and analysis to support "prudent and efficient" operations within the company.
- Ensures timely financial reporting to stakeholders – CFO, MPIC, stockholders, lenders, regulators, etc. Reviews monthly financial statements and prepares variance analysis reports. Coordinates with DMWC Finance on subsidiary reporting requirements.
- Coordinates the timely monthly closing of the books of accounts with various groups in the organization.
- Reviews and approves bank reconciliation reports. Approves bank reconciliation journal entries.
- Approves the posting of journal entry transactions in the general ledger book of accounts. Reviews subsidiary ledger balances and requires analysis from other sections and/or departments, if necessary.
- Point person in the external audit exercise. Helps the Controller in reviewing the audit scope and requirements; works with the company's external auditors in the timely completion of the audit review.
- Develops and executes management policies related to financial reporting. Hires, appoints, promotes, disciplines or dismisses subordinate employee in accordance to company policies. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
BS Accounting graduate,
CPA
With external audit experience.
With 5 years work experience; at least 2 years as Financial Reporting Manager .
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
English and Filipino Communication skills in all forms: written, oral, and listening
Strong analytical skills
Experience in dealing with different levels within the organization
Knowledgeable in General Accounting Principles
Knowledgeable in IFRS and PFRS
