Overview

The IT Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and maintenance of our IT system. This role involves proactive troubleshooting, performance optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure uninterrupted business processes. The IT Operations Specialist will play a critical role in identifying and resolving system-related issues and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Functions

  1. Regularly monitor the operating status of the IT system, identify and solve potential problems, and ensure the stable operation of the system.
  2. Carry out system inspection to ensure the normal operation of hardware, software and network environment.
  3. Respond quickly to system failures, diagnose the root cause of problems, and take appropriate action to fix them.
  4. Work with the development team to resolve technical issues and ensure continuity of system functionality.
  5. Supervise system security, undertake SOC's rectification requirements for security vulnerability scanning, and ensure that the system is free from potential threats.
  6. Monitor system performance, identify performance bottlenecks and make optimization recommendations to ensure efficient system operation. Perform system tuning to improve responsiveness and user experience.
  7. Assist in planning system updates and upgrades to ensure systems are always using the latest software versions.
  8. During updates and upgrades, ensure minimal business disruption and maintain system stability.
  9. Write documents such as operation and maintenance manuals and troubleshooting guides to provide the team with necessary reference materials. Provide training and support to other team members to help them better understand and deal with system issues.
  10. Participate in a shift system ensuring 24/7 monitoring and support of the system. Respond quickly in emergency situations and take necessary actions to restore system functionality. Job Skills & Qualifications
    1. Bachelor's/College Degree in Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (computer, electronics, telecommunication, industrial, chemical), or equivalent.
    2. Proven experience in IT system operations and maintenance, preferably in the telecommunications or IT industry.
    3. Strong understanding of IT system architecture, components, and functionalities.
    4. Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving, with a logical and systematic approach.
    5. Familiarity with system monitoring tools and techniques to ensure proactive issue detection.
    6. Experience in system configuration management and security best practices.
    7. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    8. Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
    9. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    10. Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support when required.
    11. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, including technical writing skills; understanding of Mandarin language is a plus.
    12. Background in Telecommunications industry is a plus.
