Key Responsibilities:

This position will work with the VFI Finance and Accounting Manager and the Finance Operations and Transformation Director to process financial transactions of the Global Centre. This includes:

  • Day-to-day supervision of the VFI Accounting team based in Manila
  • Supervise and prepare production of VisionFund's monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
  • Supervise reporting and compliance tasks such as filing of international tax forms
  • Supervise VisionFund's accounts receivable including annual partnership fee collections and other chargebacks
  • Support the completion of VisionFund's internal and external audit.

Major responsibilities :

  • Supervise production of financial statements, reviewing for completeness and alignment with contracts, guidelines and/or policies and make adjustments .
  • Establish and maintain monthly accounting process for timely close and accurate delivery of financial statements and analysis
  • Review and approve journal entries for general ledger reporting
  • Review and approve monthly account reconciliations
  • Supervise production of monthly budget analysis for VFI departments
  • Supervise VFI Accounts receivable process for billing, collection and tracking of all intercompany receivables from MFIs
  • Supervise global tax filings
  • Maintain records and schedules necessary for year-end audit testing and assist in audit preparation and execution.
  • Establish and maintain lease schedules (new lease accounting standards)
  • Supervise the financial year-end closing
  • Ensure that all accounts are reconciled and pending issues are resolved
  • Support in providing the necessary schedules and documents for the completion of the external audit.
  • Supervise the VFI accounting team based in Manila in coordination and with guidance from the Finance and Accounting Manager
  • Coordinate and ensure hiring/recruitment and proper onboarding of new staff
  • Coordinate and ensure learning and development of staff
  • Monitor staff performance and give feedback to Manager
  • Train staff on technical skills and identify resources they need to get the work done
  • Oversee the administrative and local requirements of staff reporting to this position, and report issues or concerns to the GFS Business Operations Manager
  • Work with the managers for overall staff management and local oversight
  • Identify process for continuous improvement for the team.
  • Other tasks as requested by manager .

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting
  • Has an extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of finance and accounting, and strong analytical skills
  • Strong US GAAP or IFRSC knowledge and experience (advantage)
  • Certified Public Accountant ( advantage)
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization (verbally and in writing)
  • At least 4 years of experience in finance and accounting role
  • Technically well versed in accounting process – Full accounting cycle
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated audit experience
  • Extensive experience working in a multi-cultural, geographically dispersed work environment
  • Extensive experience in preparing and analyzing accounting and financial reports for internal and external clients
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver results, to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization aptitudes
  • Strong technical/IT training experience
