The Role

As a Policy Governance and Methods Unit Head, you will be responsible for managing a team of quality assurance officers performing quality assurance reviews on sales, credit, and documentation processes. The position ensures compliance of the team and their stakeholders with credit and collection policies and procedures for all loan products. The position also tracks and monitors QA findings resulting in credit and operational risks, and the same are properly identified, reported, and monitored in accordance with bank policies.

As a people manager, this role is expected to coach, motivate, and develop QA officers. The role also involves workload balancing, manpower capacity planning, and the preparation of reports, including daily and monthly productivity reports, team performance reviews, and skill matrix reviews. Lastly, it discusses findings with stakeholders, performance review results with direct reports, and calibration results with the direct manager.

How you'll contribute

  • Monitors quality and performance of accounts in the Bank's loan portfolio based on available MIS data and correlates them with the stakeholders' requirements to either formulate new policies or simply enhance existing ones.
  • Ensures that the Auxiliary Governance Officer monitors and manages action plans to resolve issues committed in the RCSAs, Risk Assessments, Issue Escalation/Incident Report, BCP test results, Internal/External Audit findings, Compliance testing findings etc.
  • Ensures full awareness of developments and updates in regulatory rules, policies, and procedures based on released circulars, announcements, or publications of regulatory bodies (e.g., BSP) or as advised by authorized units of the bank.
  • Formulates recommendations in the credit policies that appear to be vague or fall under the grey areas of the bank guidelines and policies.
  • Creates and develops capacity planning using tools and techniques to ensure that proper manning and capacity is still valid relevant to the expected volume thus not resulting to excessive overtime and budget.
  • Builds rapport and makes favorable impression by interacting to different stakeholders in a manner that builds effective relationship.

What we're looking for

  • With 10 years of relevant experience in Banking and Finance, Credit Management (Evaluation and Appraisal), Audit and Taxation.
  • With knowledge of credit policies and procedures, audit awareness, risk management, budgeting, and capacity planning.
  • With project management and process improvement experience.
  • Has excellent organizing, planning, and leadership skills
  • With effective communication and interpersonal skills.
