Reporting to the Group Controller, The Head of Group Reporting will be responsible for implementing IFRS and quarterly reporting and be responsible for defining/documenting accounting standards and financial statement disclosures. Essentially, the scope of the role is balanced between Accounting Policy and Reporting projects. Certainly, an appropriate next step for Big 4 Manager/Senior Manager from the insurance practice area. The role is 2 days WFO/Hybrid in the NYC metro area.

For the right candidate, the client may consider someone who needs a 1 day a week schedule. Compensation is fairly open but $225k on the fixed would work. Perhaps higher for the right candidate. Some highlights below:

  • Assist in the development and management of critical milestones, timelines, detailed plans, and analytical reports for the IFRS implementation; Work directly with internal departments and external parties to ensure successful adoption.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements based on IFRS. Support the coordination of activities related to reporting consolidated financial results
  • Assist in special projects, which may include the implementation of new systems or refinement of existing systems within the department.
  • Monitor changes to accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, and SAP) and evaluate their impact on group companies.
  • Formalize documentation of existing accounting policies and lead the implementation of new standards
  • Review of new and existing policies with internal and external auditors.
  • Research and analyze complex transaction/technical accounting and disclosure issues and applying relevant accounting guidance
Qualifications:
  • CPA required
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS
