Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)

The Procurement Senior Lead is responsible for leading and managing the organization's procurement activities, strategic sourcing initiatives, vendor management, and contract negotiations. This role involves developing and implementing strategic procurement plans, policies, and procedures to optimize procurement processes, enhance vendor relationships, drive cost savings, and support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans, policies, and procedures to align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, evaluation, selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the procurement team, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments.

Vendor Management and Negotiation:

  • Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and relationship management initiatives to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, pricing agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers to optimize value, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, industry partners, and stakeholders.

Operational Procurement Management:

  • Oversee and manage procurement operations, including purchase order issuance, receipt of goods/services, invoice verification, and payment processing.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement data, trends, expenditures, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.

Contract Management and Compliance:

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage procurement contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect organizational interests and minimize risks.
  • Maintain contract databases, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely renewal or termination of contracts.
  • Monitor contract performance, milestones, deliverables, and compliance to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, requirements, and legal obligations.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and results-driven work environment.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, training, and support to enhance team capabilities, skills, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, stakeholders, and executive leadership to align procurement strategies, initiatives, and objectives with organizational priorities.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and integrity.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage.
