Business Development Manager (Data Services)

We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Business Development Manager to help Propel Manila expand our clientele specifically for our Data and Analytics Services.

As Business Development Manager for Data Services, you will be the first point of contact for prospects of our data practice, and play a lead role in developing and implementing an effective marketing and sales strategy for Data Services in collaboration with our Data Director and CEO.

The goal of the role is to drive sustainable financial growth through communicating the value of Propel's enhanced data and analytics services to external audiences; building a list of prospective clients and leads; and forging strong relationships with clients and prospects by securing opportunities for our Data team to demonstrate the value of our services.

This is part of the larger mission of our Data practice, which is to deliver data products and services that support strategic communications; creativity and innovation; and data-driven decision making for brands.

Our Data & Analytics practice is growing, and we would love to discuss opportunities to collaborate if you recognize in yourself the following qualities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment where your primary collaborators will be communications professionals and data analysts
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence products and genuine interest in learning about our expanding capabilities in these areas
  • Broad knowledge of data science products and services, and current developments in the field will be a big plus
  • A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers and loves sharing knowledge with more junior team members
  • A curious world class problem solver who wants to keep learning
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role; experience in Data or Tech, and experience working in cross-functional teams would be a big plus
  • Excellent communication skills with business audiences and decision-makers, including senior stakeholders
  • Experience in or knowledge of the communications industry would also be helpful

Having any of these qualities would also be a plus:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Market knowledge
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field is a plus, but not a requirement

What you'll be doing day to day

You'll help support, promote, and advocate for Propel's data services, which we are proud to have built to an industry-leading standard over the past few years. You'll build a list of prospective clients and share valuable data and insights to help convert these into leads for whom we can then set up demonstrations or roadshows.

Our growing team of Data Analysts and company leadership will work with you to optimize day-to-day work; build systems and tools for gradually scaling our data practice, including the way we market and sell this; and plan new data products and services that would offer strong value to internal and external stakeholders.

Some of the things you can expect to do:

  • Develop a growth strategy for our Data services, focused both on financial gain and delivering optimal client value
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company's data products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives
  • Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop entry level staff into valuable sales people
