As an Application Technologist leading out Sweet & Beverage category, you will be working closely with cross functional teams and departments to drive new product creations and continuous improvements for existing products to meet customers needs and market demands. You will be responsible for flavor evaluation and application for various products within Sweet & Beverage categories. Furthermore, you will assist with customer visits and presentations and you will provide technical assistance and training for customers. This role will report directly to Technical Manager, based in Philippines.

  • Evaluate flavors and recommend suitable flavors for application in different beverage, dairy and sweet formats in accordance to specific requirements
  • Create prototypes of sweets and beverages (i.e. Ready-To-Drink (RTD), Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD), powder mixes, syrups).
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of Symrise technology and technical competences in food products
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in ingredients and application technologies
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment in accordance with EHS policies
  • Ensure laboratory equipment are well-maintained
  • Ensure product developments are in compliance with defined legal, religious and customer requirements
  • Manage recipe documentation and flavor & product application evaluation data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Category Managers, Sales, Internal Technical Team, SCI, R&T and other departments as necessary
  • Assist in customer visits, sensory evaluation sessions and presentations
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing team to assess and develop new concepts based on market demands
  • Provide technical assistance and training to customers as required
  • Participate in flavor evaluation for finished goods and market samples.
    • Degree in Food Science / Food Technology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Research & Development in beverage manufacturing and/or flavor / food ingredients company focused in beverage and dairy applications
    • Experience in bakery and confectionery applications will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge in food regulations, food safety requirement and quality assurance is mandatory
    • Knowledge in ingredients and laboratory equipment related to tasks
    • Possess good sensory analysis skills
    • Proficient in both written and spoken English
    • Task-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and excellence.
    • Strong team player, creative, open to ideas & coaching and a self-starter
    • Has strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills
