Stratton Studios is looking for a Unity Game Developer to join our engineering team. You'll work across projects involving live-service support, gameplay systems, content implementation, and performance-focused improvements.

Your first focus will be a collaboration with Scopely on a major live title where we're helping rebuild parts of the Unity client for better stability, performance, and maintainability. This involves working with legacy systems, upgrading asset pipelines, and supporting gameplay and UI rebuilds, without needing to be a specialist in any one of those areas.

We're looking for a capable, adaptable Unity dev who can contribute across features, tools, and systems as part of a tight-knit, collaborative team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and improve gameplay features, UI elements, and tools using Unity and C#
  • Support improvements to older systems including GUI flows, animation logic, and asset loading workflows
  • Contribute to performance, stability, and memory usage improvements across mobile and desktop platforms
  • Collaborate with engineers, tech artists, designers, and QA on system behavior, bugs, and implementation details
  • Participate in planning for upcoming rework and development phases of a live Unity project
  • Document findings and technical changes clearly for internal and external use
  • Work flexibly across disciplines, adapting to evolving project goals

What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience developing in Unity using C# on shipped or in-development games
  • Comfortable working in existing codebases and iterating on gameplay systems, UI, or tools
  • Ability to review and improve code with performance, memory, and platform considerations in mind
  • Familiar with Unity animation, addressables or asset bundles, and editor workflows
  • Can work across systems and content, not just one gameplay or tech specialty
  • Collaborative and communicative, especially when working with remote or external partners

Bonus Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience improving or modernizing legacy Unity systems
  • Familiarity with systems like MojoGUI, HSM, or Unity Addressables
  • Understanding of cross-platform issues for iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS
  • Exposure to build pipelines, plugin/package upgrades, or CI/CD systems (e.g. TeamCity)
  • Experience with co-development or working within another studio's game architecture
