Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Jr. DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for critical system incidents, perform initial triage, and collaborate closely with our US-based development team to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of issues. You will play a key part in maintaining system health through monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the first responder for critical system incidents by performing initial triage to assess severity and impact.
  • Escalate critical errors to the US-based development team with thorough documentation via established communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate incident logs and actively participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analyses.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and internal documentation to address common issues and operational tasks.
  • Design, configure, and maintain monitoring rules, alerting filters, and performance dashboards to ensure reliable visibility into system health.
  • Continuously tune monitoring thresholds and alert logic to reduce noise, minimize false positives, and deliver actionable insights.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in DevOps, infrastructure operations, or a related technical support role.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causes.
  • Strong communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience following structured incident management and escalation processes.
  • Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, and Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or similar.
  • Familiarity with data integration/messaging tools such as Airbyte and Kafka.
  • Ability to read and understand code in multiple languages, including C#, Java, Go, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, or Better Stack.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Understanding of network fundamentals including IP addresses, VPNs, gateways, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration best practices.
  • Proficient in using command line interfaces on Linux and Windows systems.
  • Scripting expertise in Bash or Python for automating routine operational tasks.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), data analysis, data science, or system administration.
  • Exposure to software architecture principles and modern API frameworks like GraphQL or gRPC.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with ERP/SaaS platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, Odoo, or HubSpot.
