Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for helping patients of all ages with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. The primary goal is to assist them in improving their ability to perform daily tasks and activities through therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and evaluations of patients' physical, mental, and emotional health to identify their needs.
  • Develop personalized therapy plans based on patient evaluations and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Provide therapeutic treatments using a variety of techniques, exercises, and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
  • Educate patients and their families on techniques and strategies to aid with rehabilitation and coping mechanisms for daily activities.
  • Assist patients in improving fine motor skills, cognitive functions, and sensory processing.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet goals.
  • Provide recommendations for adaptive devices or tools to aid in daily functioning.
  • Ensure the therapy environment is safe and conducive to rehabilitation.
  • Educate other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members about the best methods of care for patients.
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines, including patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) in the Philippines, with valid licensure from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
  • Knowledge of current occupational therapy practices, techniques, and therapeutic modalities.
  • Ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Empathetic, patient, and able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in clinical settings is preferred, especially in rehabilitation or pediatric care.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, human development, and physiology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in managing patient documentation, including reports and treatment progress.
