Job Summary:

Provides leadership to small groups of custodians by planning, leading, and directing assigned moving, storage, and delivery activities during scheduled work periods (including weekends and overtime periods)

Qualifications/Education:

  • General ability to understand procedures, operations, and/or operate basic equipment
  • General mechanical or technical aptitude and a general knowledge of, and experience in, a skill, craft, or trade
  • Analytical thinking for basic technicalities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Loads and files finished products to trucks for delivery.

  2. Process delivery documents such as delivery receipts.

  3. Assists good housekeeping in area of responsibility.

  4. Must be able to instruct other Logistics personnel in proper lifting procedures and the use of custodial supplies/ equipments and finished goods.

  5. Assists with the development of an effective team of Logistics personnel by instructing helpers in the proper lifting and carrying methods and use of equipment designed to assist lifting and moving heavy objects, such as fork lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, platform trucks, furniture dollies, etc, as well as the proper methods and use of cleaning materials and equipment and providing corrective guidance and assistance when necessary to meet established performance standards.

  6. May run assigned errands, assist with training, maintain the inventory of stored items, remove recyclables, remove, deliver and/or store surplus items.

  7. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
