Job Title: Business Analyst & Product Owner | Tribe Management Accounting & Cost Management (GJA 17)
Location: Makati (Hybrid Work Setup)
Job Overview:

This dual role combines responsibilities of both Business Analyst and Product Owner. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategy, delivery, and squad leadership, as well as managing enhancements and the stability of PeopleSoft. The primary focus is on Cost Management, Management Accounting, and working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable product and system improvements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders and set priorities for squad deliverables.
  • Drive the stabilization and continuous enhancement of PeopleSoft as the primary system, ensuring the system aligns with business goals.

  • Product Ownership:

  • Act as the Product Owner, leading a squad of 7–9 members and setting clear priorities for the team.

  • Own the delivery of the product, ensuring that team members are aligned and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with developers and review runbooks and tech logic to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Steer the squad's work to meet delivery goals while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Leadership & Coaching:

  • Provide coaching to team members, helping them understand technical concepts and improve their overall performance.

  • Engage in leadership activities, but without the formal HR responsibilities of a hierarchical manager.
  • Ensure the squad functions effectively across various locations and time zones, managing priorities and resources to meet business objectives.
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in Cost Management and Management Accounting.

  • Prior experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within a Tribe/Squad model is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment and engage with diverse teams across various locations.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Must be able to speak tech (understand basic IT concepts) but not necessarily do technical tasks. The role requires the ability to validate technical logic, review runbooks, and communicate with developers.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in squad or tribe setups.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts is essential.

  • Leadership Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership in steering squads, setting team priorities, and ensuring the completion of deliverables.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role is required, though not necessarily in a formal managerial capacity.

  • Communication Skills:

  • Excellent proficiency in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex requirements into actionable steps for both technical and business teams.
