GENERAL SUMMARY
Based in the Starr Philippines office, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a positive attitude that fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Collaboration
- Engage business stakeholders early to capture requirements for IT solution design. Build and align the priority of functionalities to be developed within the product accordingly.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors to define business outcomes and manage requirements through product delivery to ensure these outcomes are achieved.
- Forge strong working relationships with business stakeholders to oversee their new requests, operational issues, or queries.
Agile Methodologies
- Participate in the sprint planning session by providing business goals and priorities.
- Collaborate directly with the business owner, and various cross-functional teams to ensure that business requirements match the overall strategy.
- Partner closely with QA testers and developers to ensure quality deliverables.
Technology Knowledge
- Support the design, implementation, and optimization of IT systems within our organization.
- Identify and address gaps in current systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Facilitate data migrations and implementations while minimizing disruptions.
Transformational Projects
- Serve as the primary liaison for assigned projects between different business units such as finance, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather and document requirements.
- Ensure the system complies with IT governance frameworks and company policies.
- Experience in insurance accounting processes, such as policy premium accounting and claims processing.
Process Excellence
- Review current processes and workflows to identify improvements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, workflows, and governance-related processes.
- Prepare and maintain user guides and operational manuals to assist end-users in understanding system functionalities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Job Specifications:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of general insurance product features, basic accounting and operational workflow.
- Good understanding of system development life cycle and quality assurance process.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
- Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Proficiency with SQL statement and reporting tools (e.g. SSRS and PowerBI).
- Proven experience in business analysis with a focus on accounting systems.
- Good understanding of system development life cycle and quality assurance process.
- Ability to interact with internal departments and application vendors effectively.
