What you'll be doing

  • Supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations
  • Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating agreements
  • Implements strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume availability and pricing
  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize stock discrepancies, damages, and losses.
  • Lead and supervise purchasing staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to purchasing assistants to ensure productivity and teamwork.

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience (1-2 years) in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain successful supplier relationships
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a data-driven approach
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in relevant procurement systems and technologies
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred
  • Preferably with experience in Import/Export.
