About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe System Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise-level mainframe systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role involves working with IBM z/OS, AS400 (IBM iSeries), and related mainframe technologies. You will play a key role in maintaining system stability, implementing best practices, and supporting modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain IBM z/OS and AS400 systems.
  • Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Manage system backups, disaster recovery, and security compliance.
  • Coordinate with application and network teams for troubleshooting.
  • Apply system patches, software upgrades, and manage user access.
  • Provide incident management, root cause analysis, and documentation.
  • Support after-hours maintenance and on-call rotations.
  • Lead and mentor team members to enhance mainframe skills and performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, AS400 / IBM iSeries, CICS, VSAM, and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with system monitoring, job scheduling, and change management.
  • IBM Certified System Administrator – z/OS or AS400
  • Experience with mainframe modernization or virtualization
  • Familiarity with Control-M, CA-7, or similar job scheduling tools
